Crystal Goede has worked at Genesis Day Spa as a licensed massage therapist since April of 2006. Crystal began her education for massage therapy in March of 2004 and graduated from McIntosh College, in Dover N.H in May of 2005. Crystal is Nationally Certified by the NCBTMB and is licensed as a Massage Therapist in Maine and New Hampshire. Crystal enjoys providing massage modalities such as Hot Stone Massage, Relaxation Massage, Chair Massage, Deep Tissue Techniques, Thai Foot Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Reiki and Spa Body Treatments, such as salt glows and mud wraps. Crystal believes it is important to keep up with the latest massage techniques and plans to continue with her massage education by attending more courses and seminars in the future. Crystal considers herself very lucky in life because she truly loves what she does and enjoys working with her clients. - Crystal Goede, LMT, Reiki II | After many years of retail management, Robert entered into massage therapy school at SpaTech in Portland, Maine. He graduated in December 2002, and chose to further his SpaTech experience by completing a year long program allowing him to teach massage therapy courses to the new students. His desire to offer therapeutic services to a large clientele led Robert to York County in 2003 where he practiced massage for 3 years. In 2006, he broadened his horizons by becoming a Massage Clinic Administrator in San Antonio, Texas. Although Texas had a lot to offer, Robert missed the Ogunquit atmosphere so he moved back and began working at Genesis Day Spa in May 2009. Robert shows great enthusiasm and a strong passion for massage and its benefits. He enjoys providing massage modalities such as deep tissue, relaxation, reflexology, sports massage, neuromuscular, myofascial release, chair massage, hot stone massage, and spa treatments such as body wraps and salt glows. While there she trained in specialized advanced treatments including Ultrasound, Microdermabrasion, and LED therapies. Ginger is certified in LaStone Therapy for the Skin Care Therapist and is also a Makeup Artist providing professional make up application for weddings and other special occasions. Ginger is an expert on the Dermalogica skin care line which we carry at Genesis Day Spa and has attended several continuing education courses at The International Dermal Institute. "Skin health is my passion. My goal is to blend a results-oriented treatment with a pampering and rejuvenating experience. I specialize in providing anti-aging and customized treatments for all skin types and conditions, while educating and working with my clients to look and feel their personal best." - Ginger Coggin, Licensed Aesthetician | Melissa graduated last fall from the massage therapy program at Spa Tech in Westbrook, ME. Melissa provides modalities such as: • Depp Tissue Therapy • Swedish Massage • Neuro-Muscular Re-education • Myo-fascial Release • Maternity Massage • Sports Massage - Melissa Mereyles | Carla Bashaw, the owner of Genesis Day Spa, received her BA in Business/Economics from The University of Maine at Farmington in 1993. In 1996, after pursuing a career in restaurant management she realized that she wanted to work on a more intimate level with people and began her journey into the world of massage therapy. Since graduating from North Eastern Institute of Whole Health in Manchester, NH in November of 1997, Carla has furthered her education by attending several different seminars on various modalities of massage, including Myofascial Release Techniques, Amma Therapy, Shiatsu, Chronic Pain and Sports Injury Rehabilitation Techniques, Lomi-Lomi, Reiki, Fibromyalgia, and LaStone Therapy.
In August of 2003, the opportunity presented itself for Carla to open a day spa in Ogunquit. At this time she returned to school to receive her training as an Aesthetician. She graduated and received her license in April of 2004. During this time she also began teaching massage as Adjunct Faculty in the Massage Therapy Program at McIntosh College in Dover, NH. Teaching became an integral part of her career and she continued teaching new students until the programs end in June of 2008.
Amid high levels of anticipation Genesis Day Spa opened its doors to Ogunquit in August of 2004. Carla returned to school to receive her training in manicuring soon after.
Currently in her 11th year as a Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, 5th year as a Licensed Aesthetician and 4th year as a Licensed Manicurist, Carla continues to expand her knowledge by attending seminars, product knowledge classes and keeping up with the latest technology and advancements in skin care and nail care. Tami has been working at Genesis Day Spa since April of 2006. Tami’s talents in the spa industry as well as her office management expertise soon became apparent at the spa and she was promoted to Spa Director in 2007. With over 15 years of experience in the industry Tami rejuvenates her clients from head to toe with Skin Care Treatments (Facials), Therapeutic Massage, Manicuring and Pedicuring Services and Spa Treatments such as Body Wraps and Salt Scrubs. Tami continues her education in skin care by attending classes at The International Dermal Institute in Massachusetts in order to stay current on skin care and product knowledge.
